Kamala Harris and ‘Coach Walz’ Ease Into Their New Partnership
A chemistry seems to be developing between Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota, who looks as if he cannot believe his luck.
Wow,” Tim Walz kept exclaiming, his face lit up with astonishment. “Wow.”
On Tuesday night, Mr. Walz, the Democratic governor of Minnesota — a relatively unknown figure just two weeks ago — made an exuberant and lively national debut as Vice President Kamala Harris’s running mate.
He waved enthusiastically to the cheering crowd, bowing several times. As Ms. Harris began her introductory presidential speech, he stood behind her, grinning and bobbing with excitement. He fiddled with his ear, twiddled his thumbs, and, when it was his turn at the podium, took on the role of a dynamic and spirited supporter.
Ms. Harris, familiar with the routine of letting her partner take the stage, smiled and nodded in agreement. “That’s right,” she repeated, Deadpool & Wolverine director says Henry Cavill was ‘sick to his stomach’ after smoking cigars for 8 hours clearly pleased with the support.
The dynamic between running mates can be tricky, from staging to body language. However, on Tuesday night, both Mr. Walz and Ms. Harris appeared at ease in their new roles. He expressed admiration for her “joy,” and throughout the evening, he radiated the excitement of someone who felt incredibly fortunate.
Ms. Harris seemed equally thrilled, especially about football.
Known as “Coach Walz” Imane Khelif, at center of gender firestorm, advances to gold medal boxing match from his days as a high school social studies teacher and football coach — a period during which he led his team to a state championship and advised the student gay-straight alliance — Walz’s enthusiasm was palpable.
