(NewUSD) – I haven’t seen this kind of excitement for a horror movie in a long time, but there are a couple that are released every year. This weekend, the film Longlegs will be released in cinemas, and it seems like a very fantastic and scary movie.
Unusually for a major horror movie, Longlegs now has a flawless 100 percent critic score on Rotten Tomatoes with 25 reviews. This is a synopsis of the movie:
The top horror film of 2024, “Longlegs,” has a perfect 100% review score. Furthermore, the cast is excellent. The cast includes Kiernan Shipka from The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Blair Underwood from Rules of Engagement, Maika Monroe from It Follows, Alicia Witt from OG Dune, and Nicholas Cage from Everything. Monroe in particular is solidifying her reputation as a true horror legend after playing in This and It Follows, which I would rank as one of my favorite and all-time great horror movies. Confine as the executioner (this is most certainly not confidential) is being praised for pushing our minds farther than we could have imagined. A fellow American bounced Coco Gauff out of Wimbledon, and Tommy Paul advanced to the quarterfinals.
The most intriguing thing about director Oz Perkins is undoubtedly that he played a character called “Dorky David” in the 2001 movie Legally Blonde. Anyway, since then, he has directed a few gory movies, but none that have completely blown like the ones we are seeing.
One of the first responses to the film’s surprise viewing is perhaps my favorite:
The top horror movies of 2023, none of which scored a perfect score, are listed below for your reference:
When Bad Things Happen: 97% Huesera: M3GAN received 93%, Influencer received 92%, Talk to Me received 95%, Attachment received 95%, and The Bone Woman received 97%. Get ready if you like any of them. Furthermore, these comparisons to Zodiac, the Blair Witch Project, and Silence of the Lambs—all of which are very different—are being made by a number of individuals. I’m hardly able to watch. The movie opens in a few cinemas on July 12.
The top horror film of 2024, “Longlegs,” has a perfect 100% review score. In actuality, Osgood Perkins is the man behind 2024’s most horrific movie. But that’s what Lucifer would have us think.
The tone and atmosphere of Perkins’s earlier thrillers, such “Gretel & Hansel” (2020) and “I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House,” are similar to those of “Longlegs.” Even his supporters could be taken aback by the film’s eerie mood management, cleverly timed shocks, and barking-mad performances.
With “Longlegs” taking place in the future and “Silence” being published in 1991, this could be the most well-made horror movie since David Robert Mitchell’s “It Follows” from 2014. Maika Monroe, the same celebrity, was in that one, and they both had a persistent, repulsive fear.
