‘Longlegs,’ The Best Horror Movie Of 2024 Arrives With A Perfect 100% Critic Score

There are a few highly anticipated horror films released each year, but I haven’t seen this much anticipation for one in a very long time. Longlegs is the name of the movie, which opens this weekend in theaters and seems to be an extremely good and terrifying film.

Longlegs currently has a perfect 100 percent critic score on Rotten Tomatoes with 25 reviews, which is unusual for a mainstream horror film. Here is an outline of the film:

Previous thrillers directed by Perkins, such as “Gretel & Hansel” (2020) and “I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House,” share style elements and atmospheric qualities with “Longlegs.” However, the filmmaker’s unsettling mood control, skillfully delivered shocks, and barking-mad performances may surprise even his fans.

This may be the best-realized horror film since perhaps David Robert Mitchell’s “It Follows” from 2014, when “Longlegs” is set and “Silence” was released in 1991. That one featured the same star, Maika Monroe, and shared a sustained, icky dread.
