PARIS 2024 OLYMPICS GYMNASTICS, AUSTRALIA SCHEDULE: 13 AUSSIE GYMNASTS READY TO DAZZLE ON THE BIG STAGE
Olympic schedule & day-by-day guide at Paris 2024: At the Paris 2024 Olympics, starting on July 27, a 13-member Australian gymnastics team will compete in artistic, trampoline, and rhythmic events.
Australia’s tumbling group includes a record 11 ladies and two men. In addition, the 13-strong team will be Australia’s largest gymnastics contingent ever at the Olympics.
Six Australians each will highlight in the cadenced vaulting and the imaginative tumbling. In trampoline, only one Australian will compete.
Tokyo Olympians Lidiia Iakovleva and Emily Whitehead, who will contend in the cadenced and imaginative occasions, separately, will return for their second Olympic Summer Games. The remainder of the crew will make its Olympic introduction.
Brock Batty will become the youngest male gymnast to compete in the trampoline event at the Olympics. When he goes to Paris to compete, he will be 17 years old and 211 days old. Jesse Moore is the main other male in the Australian vaulting crew.
Injuries prevented Blake Rutherford, the highest-ranked Australian in Olympic qualifying for the men’s trampoline, from competing. After sustaining an Achilles injury in May, Commonwealth Games champion Georgia Godwin, a two-time World Cup silver medalist, also ruled herself out of the Paris Olympics. The gymnastics competitions at the Paris 2024 Olympics will be held at two venues. Musical acrobatic is planned between August 8 and 11 at Porte de La Chapelle Field. Bercy Field will have imaginative vaulting from July 27 to August 5. On August 3, there will also be trampoline gymnastics at the Bercy Arena.
Australia’s solitary Olympic decoration in tumbling was won by Ji Wallace, who secured a silver in the men’s trampoline occasion at Sydney 2000.
