Nikki Glaser to host 2025 Golden Globes: “Absolutely thrilled” for the dream job
This will be Glaser’s first time hosting the Golden Globes, which will air live on CBS on Sunday, January 5, 2025.
Nikki Glaser is set to bring her comedic flair to the 2025 Golden Globes as the host of the prestigious awards show next January.
The 40-year-old comedian shared her excitement in a press release on August 28, stating that she’s “absolutely thrilled” to be hosting one of her “favorite nights of television.” Glaser humorously noted her anticipation of having a “front-row seat,” even if she’ll mostly be hosting from the stage. She highlighted the significance of the Golden Globes as a night that celebrates TV, film, and comedy, where Hollywood embraces being “lovingly mocked”—or at least she hopes so.
Glaser described hosting the event as both exhilarating and nerve-wracking due to its live, unpredictable nature and the presence of some of Hollywood’s biggest stars, who might also be enjoying a drink or two while mingling with recent exes.

Reflecting on the event’s history, Glaser mentioned her admiration for past Golden Globes hosts like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Ricky Gervais, who delivered some of the most memorable opening monologues by saying exactly what everyone was thinking. She expressed her hope to uphold that tradition—even if it might be risky for her career. Glaser also joked that landing this gig means she can finally justify all the time spent binge-watching TV shows and movies over the past year—it was, after all, research.
Known for her sharp wit, Glaser recently made headlines with her jokes about Tom Brady during her live Netflix special, solidifying her reputation as one of comedy’s boldest voices.
