Man set on fire in New York City’s Times Square

New York City authorities are searching for a suspect who set a man on fire in Times Square Sunday morning.

Police responded to a 45-year-old man on fire on West 41st Street and 7th Avenue just before 4 a.m., a statement from the New York Police Department shared with NBC New York said.

No one has been arrested in relation to the crime, but police do not believe it was random. The NYPD also said no homeless people were involved in the incident.

The victim was taken to NewYork-Presbyterian / Weill Cornell hospital in stable condition. Police have not released a description of the victim.

The NYPD said the investigation is ongoing.

Sunday’s incident comes just months after a man allegedly killed a woman by setting her on fire in a New York City subway.
