(NewsUSD) – Following troubling social media posts, Kevin Love and the NBA community express concern for Kyle Singler.
Concern has been raised by NBA player Kevin Love and a number of other athletes over former NBA big Kyle Singler after he shared disturbing video messages on Instagram on Tuesday. Fans and former teammates immediately responded to Singler’s expressions of loneliness and abuse in the recordings.
Singler talked of feeling “mistreated and abused, neglected, made into a mental example” in his first video, in which he was naked and clearly unhappy. Adding, “I fear for my life every day,” People in my neighborhood portray me as someone who will cause trouble, even when all I’m trying to do is help. After 90 seconds, the video unexpectedly ended, prompting Love to reply, “I love you, Kyle. Hit me at any time. Please.
NBA players Isaiah Thomas and Andre Drummond also posted supportive messages. Thomas said, “Here for you, buddy! Forever and eternally…We adore you, buddy! “You’re not alone, brother,” Drummond said. I’m available to you. Chandler Parsons, a former NBA player, mirrored these feelings when he wrote, “Here with you, buddy—you’re not alone.”
Love, 35, and Singler grew up in Oregon together and have been close friends ever since. At Duke University, Singler was a talented player who helped the Blue Devils win a national championship and was chosen as the Most Outstanding Player of the 2010 Final Four. After a stellar collegiate career, Singler played with the Detroit Pistons for six seasons after being chosen as the 33rd choice in the 2011 NBA Draft.
Love’s and other NBA players’ comments show how worried everyone is about Singler’s health and how supportive the NBA community is of him during this trying time.
