Julianne Hough makes ‘beautiful’ revelation about her sexual orientation
Julianne Hough spills beans on 'beautiful' revelation about her sexual orientation during podcast
Julianne Hough recently spoke about her sexual orientation, five years after publicly stating she’s “not straight.” During her appearance on the Jamie Kern Lima Show podcast, the Dancing With The Stars alum emphasized that she does not wish to label herself, describing her attraction simply as being drawn to “people.”
Reflecting on her journey, Hough recalled how “empowering” it felt to come out publicly in 2019. “Coming out is one of the most vulnerable and empowering things you can do,” Hough shared. “For me, it wasn’t about being straight, gay, bi, or queer. It’s more about understanding what love is—I love people, and I don’t know exactly what I’m attracted to, but I choose you.”
Now at 36, Hough admitted she’s still exploring her own sexual orientation. She described her ongoing personal revelation, explaining that she’s learning to see people for their hearts, beauty, and essence, calling it a “beautiful revelation.”
Hough first spoke about her identity in 2019 during a candid interview with Women’s Health, where she revealed to her then-husband, Brooks Laich, that she was “not straight.”
