What California Gov. Gavin Newsom has said about a possible presidential bid
Gavin Newsom, Josh Shapiro, Pete Buttigieg, Phil Murphy Endorse Kamala Harris: The California governor has endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for president, effectively ending any chance of Newsom becoming president in 2024.
Newsom tweeted Sunday afternoon that the Oakland-born, Berkeley-raised vice president is “tough, fearless, and tenacious” and that no one is better at leading the country in a “healthier” direction than she is.

Shortly after announcing his resignation and ceasing his re-election campaign, Joe Biden endorsed Harris as his replacement.
What California Gov. Gavin Newsom has said about a possible presidential bid: The natives of the Bay Area have previously collaborated. Harris filled in as the Lead prosecutor while Newsom was city chairman of San Francisco.
In 2003, Harris had defeated the incumbent for San Francisco district attorney. She was appointed state attorney in 2010 and was re-elected in 2014.
The first African-American, Asian, and female vice president served under the Biden-Harris administration.
