Dani Leigh DUI Arrest Bodycam Footage, ‘I’m A Singer, You Can’t Arrest Me!’
Footage of Dani Leigh’s DUI arrest shows her telling police, ‘I’m a singer, you can’t arrest me’
Bodycam footage from Dani Leigh’s DUI hit-and-run arrest in May 2023 has been released, showing the R&B singer trying to use her fame to avoid being arrested.
The video, obtained by TMZ, shows Dani Leigh clearly drunk and begging Miami police not to arrest her, while denying she was involved in a crash. However, she did hit a 17-year-old and then drove away from the scene. Police had to try multiple times to stop her, and witnesses confirmed that she didn’t stop after the accident.
During her interaction with the officers, Dani Leigh kept denying that she hit anyone. At one point, she becomes emotional and mentions being with rapper Quavo, who briefly appears in the video with his security team.
As she is being led away in handcuffs, Dani Leigh is heard crying and insisting, “I didn’t hit nobody.” A Breathalyzer test later revealed her blood alcohol level was almost twice the legal limit.
After her arrest, Dani Leigh was charged with several offenses, including DUI, leaving the scene of a crash with serious injury, and DUI causing property damage. She pleaded no contest in February to a misdemeanor DUI charge and a felony DUI charge for causing serious injury. The other charges are expected to be dropped if she completes her five-year probation. Her lawyer, Michael Catalano, argued that the victim was actually at fault for the accident.
