Dallas Police shooting: officer killed, two injured
An unnamed suspect fled from the scene, but was pursued and later shot by officers, the Dallas Police Department said in a statement early Friday.
Dallas Police shooting: One police officer was killed and two others were injured in a shooting in southern Dallas late Thursday, according to the Dallas Police Department.
The incident occurred around 10:10 p.m. local time near East Ledbetter Drive and South Marsalis Avenue in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered one officer had been shot inside a marked squad car. Police exchanged gunfire with the suspect, during which two officers were struck.
All three officers were transported to local hospitals. Unfortunately, one officer succumbed to their injuries, while another remains in stable condition and a third is in critical condition.
Dallas Police shooting: The suspect fled the scene but was pursued by officers to Lewisville. Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect exited the vehicle armed with a long gun and was shot by officers, dying at the scene.
