Alix Earle confronts racism allegations as leaked Ask.fm posts expose shocking offensive slurs
Millionaire Gen Z influencer Alix Earle said she was given ‘wrong advice’ on racist posts
On Monday, Alix Earle addressed past offensive behavior on her Instagram story, acknowledging that she used a racial slur on the question-and-answer platform ask.fm in 2014. In her statement, Earle, who was 13 at the time, apologized for her actions, explaining that she did not understand the full implications of the slur back then. “That is no excuse for using that word in any context or at any age. That is absolutely not the way I speak or what I stand for,” she said.
Earle expressed regret for any pain her words may have caused and clarified that such comments do not reflect her beliefs. “I am deeply sorry that my words have hurt many and have led people to believe that I have any prejudice in my heart. I promise you that could not be further from the truth,” she added.
The offensive comments, which first surfaced on the “Alix Earle Snark” Reddit page in 2023, recently reappeared on TikTok and other platforms. After their resurgence on a subreddit associated with the “Do We Know Them?” podcast, hosted by Jessi Smiles and Lily Marston, Earle’s legal team allegedly contacted the podcast hosts. According to Smiles, the lawyer claimed that the content violated a trademark.
Smiles and Marston clarified that they had no involvement with the subreddit and were surprised by the email they received from what was purportedly a rights agent, WEB SHERIFF. “While we cannot speak to the legitimacy or existence of any trademarks or copyrights, we can confirm that we received an email,” they said.
The email, signed by John E. Henehan LL.B., claimed to represent the intellectual property rights of Alix Earle and outlined 11 alleged infringements. The hosts expressed their concerns and noted that they were unaware of the post before receiving the email.
